New York City-based composer, music supervisor and executive producer Bryson Barnes recently served as the Music Supervisor on the feature film Sensitivity Training which premiered at the 2016 LA Film Festival. On the project Bryson worked closely with award-winning concert and film music composer Paul Chihara. In 2015 he was a recipient of ASCAP’s Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award. Bryson also has extensive expertise in production music and licensing, having recently finished an eighteen-month stint as a Music Specialist at Getty Images, where he helped manage and curate one of the world’s leading music production libraries.
As a performer he has appeared with artists including Slick Rick and Big Daddy Kane and as a leader, the Bryson Barnes Group was featured at the 2012 Burlington Discover Jazz Festival. In the winter of 2013, Bryson toured throughout Eastern Europe performing original music with Arctica, a contemporary jazz trio. As an educator he has served as an adjunct faculty member at Skidmore College, a graduate lecturer in jazz theory at McGill University and an adjunct instructor at New York University.
